The Smart Snacks in School rules will affect all “competitive foods,” which are snacks and beverages that compete with the National School Lunch Program and are sold in vending machines, student stores and a la carte lunch lines.

With July 1, 2014 as the date that schools must comply with the new rules, SmartSnacksinSchool.com will serve as a one-stop resource during this transition period.
